Privacy Cookie Policy

Who we are

Our website address is: https://beverleyplayhouse.co.uk.

Just like 99.9% of all websites this site also uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your computer/device to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like pages visited, shopping carts, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications such as Google Analytics.

A good example is the Cookie Consent Bar that appeared at the top of the page when you first visited this website, when you clicked the button “Ok, thanks” a cookie was sent preventing the Cookie Consent Bar from re-appearing. Without cookies then the Cookie Consent Bar would keep popping up on every page you visited on this website, time after time, and you’d have to click Ok every time to dismiss it, now that would be really annoying, wouldn’t it?

We use the cookies to personalise content and ads (if used), to provide social media features (if used) and to anonymously analyse our traffic to see which of our pages are most popular. (and to root out those that are not).  As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. We suggest consulting the Help section of your browser or taking a look at the About Cookies website which offers guidance for all modern browsers. An opt out from Google Analytics is available here.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your Gravatar profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

The contact form is currently disabled on this site, so your data is neither collected or processed.

If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
